Finding the cause of death of that individual by logical or medical reasoning. This movie though has a nasty twist to it. Imagine people who find cause of death being death themselves. This story takes its turn as a game in which doctors play a game where another deduces what was the cause of death. Milo Ventimiglia (from Heroes) plays doctor Grey who is fresh out of medical school and is the latest edition to the game. Rest of the cast include (famous faces) Alyssa Milano (Charmed) and John de Lancie (Star Trek: The Next Generation). Other central cast include Michael Weston and Lauren Lee Smith.
The first time I heard about Milo Ventimiglia in a normal movie I was a little skeptical about him holding a movie on his own even though his presence is felt rather heavily during the airing of Heroes. He has proven my critic thoughts wrong though with his acting skill. Milo has played a character with little or no facial expression during the course of the movie. His good side was Alyssa Milano who plays his fiancée and John de Lancie (or ‘Q’) is just another addition to the cast of the movie both the actors do not have much role though.
The atmosphere surrounding the movie is rather dark taking into account the number of murders we get to see and how they are committed. The story is mostly focused on Milo going thru the phase change of how he plays the game and how he is by the time the movie ends. A person who is afraid of doctors would think twice before ending up in their clinics. The killings in the movie takes it toll on ones mind, it plays thoughts that you might never have thought they existed. In total the movie is a good watch but not for the weak stomach and defiantly not when they are eating. All in all I would give this movie a 7. Single watch only. :-)

Why so serious ?

I remember the first time I had been at the cinema to watch Batman (1987), the shear excitement of being in the cinema was overwhelming and to top it off it was the caped crusader fighting crime. After 19 years Warner Brothers decided to re-launch the franchise. WB handed the helms of the project to Christopher Nolan who took the movie into a completely different direction which was much close to comic books as it can be. Even though both the movie (Batman 1987 and Batman begins 2006) are based on the same Batman character (Frank Millers: The Dark Knight Returns) there is a vast difference in the conceptualization of the character by the two directors. Nolen directs Bales by making his movie darker then what Tim Burton had done and more realistic.
With the cast as superb as Nolan had assembled the movie was a sure hit from the day started shooting (Rorrie’s first Kiss). The Dark Knight stars Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Michael Caine (Alfred Pennyworth), Heath Ledger (Joker), Aaron Achart (Harvey Dent/Two Face) Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox) and Gary Oldman (Jim Gordon). The Dark Knight continues the story of battle against evil but this time around Batman is faced with his arch enemy, Joker, who has a habit of creating mayhem wherever he goes. This movie marks the appearance of Harvey Two Face and Joker in the same movie and the departure of Heath Ledger after his untimely death.
It was noted that Ledger had locked himself in a hotel room for a month to get into the character of the clown prince of Gotham and now that sets the standard for any person playing that character. His portrayal was the darkest compared to what we had seen in ‘87’. Aaron Achart did a perfect portrayal of Harvey, actually the half burnt face gave the effect much more then his acting but it’s the guy behind it right? Gary Oldman is at his best as he is in all his movies. It had been rumored that Heath Ledger will be nominated at the Academy Awards for this role as the Joker but critics have enlightened the views that Oscar nominees are not selected from movies that are based on comics. Personally I feel that the death of the character Rachel Dawes marks a void in the continuation that will make a possibility of the appearance of Vicky Vale. The character of Robin is yet to be introduced and Batgirl. This movie is a must watch and if you are a fan like me, then more then twice is a good idea.

Spoiler: Movie opens up with a daring daylight robbery by six men in a clown suit one of which is the clown prince himself. Joker proposes to kill the Batman to the thugs whose money he had stolen. Harvery Dent and Gordon get together and bring all the thugs of Falcone behind bars after which The Joker is caught by Gordon while trying to unmask Batman when Dent is charged of being the caped crusader who murded 5 police officers. Dent and Rachel Dawes are held in separate warehouses rigged to blow with oil drums all around him. Only Dent is saved but leaves him scared for life with half his face burnt in the explosion marking the appearance of two face in the movie. Final battle between Batman and Joker takes place in a building under construction, where joker is left hanging for the GPD to be collected. Two Face dies in the final sequence with Batman taking the blame of his kills on to himself which now makes him a criminal.

Hulk Smash!!!

Finally after so many years the wait was over for a Hulk movie to smash into cinemas. The predecessor was considered such a big disaster that people end up forgetting there was one with Ang Lee at its helm. This time around since Marvel has taken over the production themselves and we have seen that movies based on their creations have sky rocketed to success (The incredible Hulk and the Iron Man). This movie deviates a lot from its predecessor firstly by not irritating its viewers with the split screens and a hulk that is not humungous and grass green.

The movie shows the origin of Hulk during the opening credit (Norton sitting in a chair similar to Bixby), the gamma radiation, and the metamorphosis of Banner to Hulk. The actual physical transformation isn’t shown in the movie until the beginning of the climax sequence. I heard from a few people say “Edward Norton .. bleh he wouldn’t make a good Banner”, I have to admit there were a few scenes that I wished wasn’t with Ed Norton as Banner. The story line is the same as the comic books and the original TV series, Banner and his team is doing an experiment that goes terribly wrong and he is changed into the green beast of a character. Speaking of the old TV series, it can be noted that there is a cameo made by Lou Ferrigano as a security guard (Pizza Delivery), Stan Lee (with the juice bottle) and Bill Bixby (punched by the kid – on TV start of movie).

Personally I think Norton did a splendid job with Banner, he got into the character like Bixby did during his time, and his transformed part was just *lost for words*. Of course the Hulk is CGI but it doesn’t look anything close to the green thing in Ang Lees venture. Liv Taylor looks as beautiful and ravishing as she used to look; she has her scenes in the movie but is lost at times when she is with Norton or Hulk. William Hurt plays General Ross the military dude chasing Hulk all the way to hell if he had to; I feel that he lacked the enthusiasm that Sam Elliiot had in his role as Ross. Both played the same role but the feeling of having Sam play a ruthless general is spine tingling at times. Not forgetting Tim Roth, he was just superb in the role as Emil Blonsky an English soldier brought in to lead a team of mercenaries to hunt down and bring hulk to Ross, alive and sedated, which is close to impossible.

The action sequences in the movie was breath taking, the fight between the abomination and Hulk was done nicely, Hulk had his signature clap towards the end of the movie, and ground punch and lastly the dialogue, his first words actually “HULK SMASH!!!”. According to IMDB the voice of hulk was done by Lou Ferrigno, I guess keeping the legend alive through the original voice. I haven’t read much about abomination in the comics but it’s evident to me now that he is an integral part of the Marvel universe.

All in all I would give this movie 9/10. HULK SMASH!!!

SPOLIERS !!!

There are three surprises in the movie

1.) There is a mention of a super soldier serum that the military is still testing on. Get it yet? Super soldier serum that made Captain America, the first Avenger, a Legend.
2.) There is a mention of a so called Weapon Plus program that is developing and testing the super soldier serum. Weapon plus later developed into Weapon X program, which we all know what resulted into.
3.) Lastly there is an appearance by Tony Start telling general Ross that “your super soldier program didn’t go to well” and that “we are assembling a team”

Now that is a lot of info to any Marvel fan and to top it off Marvel studios has release this:

Iron Man 2 April 30, 2010 Jon Favreau in negotiations; original cast returning
Thor June 4, 2010 Screenwriter Mark Protosevich attached
The First Avenger: May 6, 2011 Screenwriter David Self attached
Captain America

The Avengers Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America July 2011

Ant-Man TBA

Now this is what I would call a Universe in the making … the Marvel Universe.

Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Waiting for Indiana Jones 4 was like waiting at a store for your favorite star wars toy or waiting for the world’s best supercar to be unveiled. Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was worth the wait for a fan such as me. Before going to the cinema’s I had watched all three of its prequels to get the feeling back of having Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones back. After exiting the cinema I was humming the theme, a friend of mine gave me a smirk when he heard me and I was like, “what?” Kingdom of the Crystal Skull continues about 20 years after the incidents of The Last Crusade. He is faced with a search to find a crystal skull that promises great power to the person who returns it to its rightful place. Joining the cast is Shia LaBeouf (transformers) and Karen Allen (Marion from Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark). There are quite a few linkups that are done with this movie and its last installment (in spoilers). Even though Harrison ford is old (and looks fragile) he still has the stamina to do most of his stunts. At the age of 66, it’s still a sight to see Indiana Jones and having his whip fly around.
The movie is based on a theme that has been in talks by us for a long time, but I guess Lucas was able to handle the theme with ease (of course you have Spielberg there). The cast were new but they did hold up in the expectation. Unlike the older ones that had a recurring sole of Salah, Brody or Hendry Jones Senior, who are missing and it is felt in the movie who were there to make the mood a little lighter. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull shows in a scene Indiana looking at his father’s picture (Connery) and Brody (Elliott). Even though I enjoyed the movie a lot but it did not surpass the feel that Lost Ark had or Last Crusade had and with all the bloopers going around on the internet I feel that someone made little messes along the way while editing.

All in all I would rate this movie a 8.5/10.

Spoiler Alert !!!!
The movie starts off with German soldiers hauling out a hat and two men from the boot of a car. Only the hat is shown and some one walks up to the hat and up its on (only shadow), it’s Indy. Russians want to locate a crate that Indy had helped put in the storage shown in the end of Last Crusade. The crate contains something highly magnetic. Indy finds it by the use of gun powder and the contents of a bullet. When uncovered it showed an alien that has been frozen and in the crate. Indy escapes the Russians, with the theme in the background, by locking himself in a fridge in an area located for nuclear testing.
Basically the movie is based on a theme of aliens. The mysterious crystal skull that indy has to find is the skull of an alien head that was removed (surgically by FBI it seems) and it was lost for sometime. Shia is the one that asks Indy to go and look for the professor and his mum (Karen Allen).
Indy sets off after the trail left by the professor, he does find the professor and Karen. A few minutes later it is discovered that Shia is Indy’s son, Hendry Jones the third (that scene cracked me up). The adventure ends with Indy returning the skull and an alien space craft vanishing into think air. Indy addresses Shia LaBeouf as Junior (being Hendry Jones the 3rd) like his father used to do, then there is the end when Shia LaBeouf picks up the hat of indy and is in the process of wearing it, Ford snatches it off his hands. It was like saying “Its not your time right now ... Junior”.

The Forbidden Kingdom

I remember the first time I heard about this movie (it was an untitled project then) that Jet Li and Jackie Chan were supposed to be in the same movie. It was a moment in time that I had started thinking of what the story concepts would have been like to have these two icons appear in a single frame. The storyline of the movie is that a stick made of gold is kept with an old video shop owner who is waiting for the stick to be picked up by its rightful owner. It so happens that the young kid who is interested so much into kung fu movies is the one chosen to make journey and return it. Like all the other Chinese fantasy movies, Forbidden Kingdom also takes the same path.
Filled with magic, mischief and martial arts, this movie stands out from the others. Jackie Chan plays a drunken martial arts master and Jet Li plays Sun Wukong (Monkey King) both of whom accompany Jason in his journey. There is a scene in a temple when for the first time Li and Chan are shown on screen and they end up fighting for the staff. The movie shows that both have the same amount of power and stamina during the fight scene. Li possesses mystical powers like multiplying himself with just a strand of hair (genetic cloning? But this was instant) any ways he possessed more than just replicating (if you want to call that), powers like being able to command his stick to fight without him actually holding it. Even though the actor who plays Jason is the central character in the movie, his character is dull when Li and Chan appear on the screen, either during fight scenes or just talking to him. I guess that’s what we call on screen charisma.

Spoiler:

Movie opens with Jet Li fighting in the clouds (actually mountains very high up) with soldiers, next Jason is shown on screen dreaming that fight sequence. After the credits Jason goes and buys a few martial arts action movies from an old Chinese video shop owner. On his departure from the shop he gets into a fight which he looses, the victor finds out that he has been buying movies from the old Chinese man and takes him to the shop to pretend that he came to buy movies but his motive was to steal cash. During the robbery the victor (of the fight) shoots the shop owner and Jason runs away with the golden staff he saw earlier. They chase him to a roof top from where Jason falls off.
Jason awakes up in a village in China and he is again chased by some soldiers (Chinese army) where is saved by a drunken martial arts master (Jackie Chan). Who tells him that he is responsible to return the stick to the rightful owner and he is not going to help in its return. The stick is stolen from Jason by Jet Li, which initiates a fight between Chan and Li. Matters are solved, and they both start teaching Jason martial arts. Jason ends up in a dual after Chan is injured in an escape and he needs the potion that will give Chan eternal life. Li comes to Jason’s rescue just when he was about to be killed and the staff is returned. The Jet Li that accompanied Jason on his journey turns out to be a clone(?).
The monkey god is awoken from his 400 years sleep and all ends well, with Jason back in the right place, defeats the guy who bullied him in the starting of the movie.
Over all I would rate this movie 8/10 (I guess I m a fan of Li and Chan and I like their scenes).

Iron Man

I remember way back in 1993 when I picked up my first Iron man comic from a supermarket, I went home in a rush and started flipping through the pages of the hero who wore a metallic suit with colors like hot rod red and yellow. Just like its counterpart, Marvel had introduced a lot of heroes to the Marvel universe and now finally we see a movie version of the hero in the IRON suit. The movie according to many reviews I have read, and agreed with, is closest to the character of Iron Man you can get. The suit looks like it is just out of the comic books, the scenery and the tone of the movie is just perfect.
Even though I m not a Marvel fan, I still read comics of the character that I like. (so I m not a dedicated DC fan, shoot me). Over the years of enjoying cinematic pieces, this is the third time I m able to enjoy a movie that has stayed true to its, comic roots you can say.

Spoiler:
The movie starts off with the natives of Afghanistan taking Toney Stark (Robert Downey Jr) hostage and are asking to build the Jericho missile (shown in the trailers). Stark builds a suit that enables him to punch through walls and escape (with the spectacular flame thrower) and return to his home. There on the story takes place with Stark realizing what he had been doing, being the merchant of death, and plans to rid the people who took him hostage off the weapons that he had been building for the US Military.
Stark is assisted in this task by his personal AI named Jarvis, which he had built and which controls his house. There are a number of scenes that show Stark doing some tests on his suits (before it is put together) like his rocket boosters in the boots and in the palms of his suit. All this while after his escape the Afghanis are piecing together the suit that Stark had left in the desert after this escape. Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges) is shown as the guy who had assisted Stark’s dad when he was alive and helps the young Stark with his fathers business. Stane later is shown as the guy who had planned the kidnapping and murder of Stark, because the plan had failed Stane kills the Afghanis, and takes the suit from them and builds a bigger version for himself. Both the men battle atop the roof of Stark Industries in the finally.
The movie ends with a secret group that had an alibi ready for Stark because the media had been accusing him of being Iron Man. The final words in the movie was Tony Stark admitting “I m Iron Man”.

When I first heard of the director Jon Favreau, I was like ok this is a new director for me, and I didn’t know which movies he had made. But it so turned out I saw a number of his movies and I really liked them. Robert Downey JR is by far the best choice for Tony Stark for any director, he has the charisma and the talent to fit into roles like gloves. Gwyneth Paltrow did a good job also but the role was very short for an actress of her talent (unless they are planning more for her in the sequel). Terence Howard and Jeff Bridges were just right also, I did hear that Howards character will have a bigger role in the sequels, and as for Bridges, well he is an actor in his own class. All in all the movie can be rated as an 9/10 overall. Good work Favreau, I just hope Marvel gives you the reins of the sequel.

Also: I was told that Nick Fury makes a cameo in this movie right in the end, scolding Stark for this action and inform him of the Avenger Initiative. I didn’t sit till the end of the credits but I should be able to catch Nick Fury in the DVD’s once it gets released.

One Missed Call

Faint heartbeat growing louder, panting sound coming from a child and then a scream, this is what sets the pace for this movie from the very beginning. Although am not a big fan of horror movies, One Missed Call had me starting at my LCD screen in the middle of the night with it being source of illumination for my room. I stared at the movie and wondered where I had seen a similar story line. Until you see the third death in the movie it is mostly a blur of events that keeps you guessing about what the movie hold.

Plot:
The movie starts of with a hospital on fire and a little girl being carried by a fireman who asks about her mom. The girl doesn’t reply but it is known that there is something that happened that wasn’t supposed to. The very next screen after the credits roll the movie starts with deaths all around. People getting killed and all the killings seem unexplained. Right till the end we are kept guessing what was the reason for the deaths and why it was happening.

The movie was made with good quality special effects (not too much) and the cast were very fitting in their roles (all the way down to their expressions). It was really cool to watch what effect artists can do with a face if they have it their computer. I did enjoy One Missed Call but it had a strange and uncanny resemblance to Final Destination. I have to admit after watching all part of Final destination one is rather hooked to the scenario of death around us being unexplained or of supernatural origin. I guess this movie tried to do just that but was deliberately made different so that it doesn’t look like another notch in the Final Destination franchise.

This movie had its share of freaky time on screen compared to the two previous movies I had watched. Over all I would rate this movie 6.5/10

Free Accounts

now i thought this was fake .. but i have seen this work .. try it. Imagine a small piece of equipment that captures life’s most precious memories. Twisting the thought a little gives you the concept of shutter portrayed through the movie of the same name. Shutter starts with a newly weds heading off to Japan for their honeymoon, on their way Jane Shaw (Rachael Taylor) runs over a lady that she saw on the road. After Benjamin Shaw (Joshua Jackson) starts his job, strange things start to happen, strange appearances of an extra person in the photos taken by Benjamin and visions of the same girl that appear to Jane. Jane sets out to uncover the secret of this spirit that haunts the couple. The revelation of the mysterious appearances is really freaky.
The cast assembled for this movie is good, with Joshua as Benjamin, Rachael as Jane and Megumi Okina as Megumi. Megumi did a very good job is a spirit, even though spirits are not meant to express anything apart from keeping a straight face. According to Reuters, Shutter has been set in Japan in order to pay homage to its original. The movie is really freaky if seen in cinemas, the effect would be totally lost if you sit down at home with a pop-corn and drinks, some scenes really make u shiver. Over all I would give this movie a 8/10. I stop what ever I m doing when I have a neck pain. The movie being a remake of a J-horror movie of the same title is directed by Masayuki Ochiai. Although there is not much known about the director (IMDB having only a handful of movies to his filmography) it was good to know that Masayuki has won a two awards (IMDB) for two of his works.

PS: if you have seen this movie, and have a neck pain, don’t burn yourself. I didn’t bother to read the whole review but just bits and pieces. The things that got stuck to my head were vampires and a month of darkness. There has been a lapse in vampire movies that come to the silver screen, 30 Days of Nights came out just in time and making people jump in their seats (I know I did). 30 Days of Nights follows through a story of a small town in Alaska where people are about to migrate (like birds) away from the dark month of the year. Once a year this town is in total darkness when the sun sinks below the horizon. Now being in darkness is cool but what if you are surrounded by blood thirsty vampires?
Based on a comic with the same name this story takes place in an Alaskan town which is in darkness for thirty days. The people of the village think that vampires are only a myth but they are faced with reality when the vampires start draining their victims. They are met with a wife and husband team who with others occupants of the town try to survive the month of horror. The final sequence shows the husband and the head of the vampires in a dual with a rather unusual ending. The idea that I liked in this movie was the FX that seemed so real that its hard to distinguish between make-ups and FX making the movie more enjoyable.
The cast of this movie is headed by Josh Hartnett (Lucky Number Slevin & Sin City) and Melissa George (Alias TV Series). Josh has been around in Hollywood doing some roles that you might overlook. His best roles according to me are in the above two mentioned movie titles. Melissa George on the other hand is an actress who has been in and out the silver screen. She has a lot of movie in her credit (I just found out) all of which are quite familiar titles. All the cast were pretty good in their roles with Josh showing a very different side of his acting. Personally I would rate this movie 7/10.

Next

Imagine being able to see your future for only two minutes, being able to change things to your liking. Next is a story about a small time magician named Cris Johnson (Nicolas Cage), with a stage name of Frank Cadillac, living his life in Las Vegas with this gift. He knows the café and the exact time she will show up makeing it easier to find Liz (Jessica Biel).
Simultaneously there is a nuclear device that was stolen and FBI agent Callie Ferris (Julianne Moore) needs Cadillac’s help to track down the people who stole it. With the gift of premonition, Cadillac tries to help out Ferris hunt down the terrorists and put an end to their scheme. In this process Liz gets taken hostage by the terrorists, strapped to a bomb which makes Cadillac more involved then before. After Cadillac had met Liz his gift of two minutes changed, making him able to see for a longer period.
Personally I think this is the second time I have seen Nicolas Cage carry a movie on his shoulders (Ghost Rider being the first even though people hate the movie). Cage has over the years, though the cinema history, made changes to his acting style that has made millions of viewers pleased with him. Biel on the hand with her tight tush graces the scene by being in just a towel, wet while coming out of the shower. Julianne Moore looks as beautiful as ever. Her character and acting style is being repeated in most of the movies recently (Forgotten, Children of Men) each showing an aggressive agent or a mother at work. Rest of the cast were picked to fill out just the remaining character so that there is a story to continue.
This movie is based on a short story written by Philip K. Dick, the science fiction writer that has many stories to his credit. Some of his novels that have been visualized into motion picture are Minority Report, Blade Runner and Pay Check just to name a few. His stories were unique, which made movie producers run after acquiring the rights to the movie. I wonder what that guy must have been thinking when he write all these stories?

PS: A second part to the movie is being planned to end the story.

Mr. Brooks.

Kevin Costner being a versatile actor as we know him to be makes his new movie look like a child’s play for other actors. Mr. Brooks is about an individual who is a prominent businessman but also has split personality. Now this scenario really gave me a tingle when I read the synopsis behind a DVD cover. I never imagined Costner as a psycho or a being a cold blooded murderer. There was something in the movie that really made him fit into that character. Costner plays Mr. Brooks,a business man who suppresses his split personality for two years until it entices him to do something he vowed not to. His gleefully sadistic alter ego is played by William Hurt, he entices Brooks to do the killing after two years.
After killing Brooks had a habit of getting rid of evidence by burning and cleaning the house of any evidence of his presence. He sets the bodies of his victims in a way that portrays the symbol of love. Also he makes a thumb print using one of the victims thumb on a visible area which got him the name the thumb print killer. Chasing the thumbprint killer is Portland detective Tracy Atwood played by Demi Moore. Atwood is in a personal crisis in this movie, fighting the case of a divorce settlement, one of her captured convicts has escaped and is looking for her and then there is a killer on the loose in Portland.
This movie revolves around three characters; the third is an eye witness that captures the double homicide of the thumb print killer after his two year break. He is a photographer that resides in the opposite building of Brooks’ victims. Atwood knows that the photographer has witnessed the crime but he denies it, but he takes the photos of Brook’s killings to him to do a bargain. The actors are superb in the movie, its almost like the actors were kept in mind when the script of this movie was written. Personall I would rate this movie an 8 out of 10. This movie reminded me of the ’Silence of the Lambs’ series, a serial killer and a cop bent on catching him, but ‘Mr. Brooks’ is no where near the excellence of ‘Silence of the Lambs’.

Rouge: Assassin/War

I remember watching the trailer for this movie on Apples site and the next thing I know a friend told me that a movie with Jet Li and Jason Statham is in theatres and its called Rouge: Assassin. I thought what the hell why did Lions Gate release one movie with two titles? I had been waiting for sometime now for these two to team up again after “The One”. Rouge: Assassin starts with two cops who are very good a friend, one of them is assassinated and the other wants vengeance for his partner’s death. As you might have guess (from the trailers) that Statham is the cop who wants vengeance. Li on the other hand is the assassin (duh!) who eliminates the people he is hired to kill in any way he chooses.
Li was given a role similar to the one in “Lethal Weapon 4” less talk, more fight kind of character. His fight sequence in the end (battling the Asians) was very exciting (one of them gets hit by a vehicles tyre rim). Statham on the other hand was given a role identical to his character in “The One”, a cop chasing his partner’s killer. This did seem boring because the same scenario was being repeated with the same actors. The twist they tried to incorporate in the script was that the cop doesn’t see the assassin until half way though the movie. Also they integrated the feud between the Yakuza and the Triads into the script to maybe life the storyline or fill in the running time of the movie. (Trust me there wouldn’t have been a story without it). The rest of the characters were ok because I knew only two of them and one of their names.
This movie has it all the fights, chase sequence, Triads fighting Yakuza, and the cop and killer scenario. The story has a twist in the end which makes the movie pathetic. Even though we get to see little of Statham and Li fighting the crap out of themselves. There was something that lacked in the movie; I just can not put my finger to it, maybe it was the storyline that sucked towards the end. Rouge: Assassin is just a once watch or you can skip it and if you liked “The One” you can watch that again.

The Bourne Legacy

A man found in the stormy sea riddled with bullets, pulled in to the fishing boat and nursed to health but is suffering from amnesia. His first of clues was in his hip, a Zurich bank account number, in form of a miniature torch. Upon his arrival to Zurich’s bank the manager informs Langley. He finds a number of passports and a gun in the safe box, first passport he found was of Jason Bourne and the bank manager seems to know him as Jason Bourne. Now a man without any memory, with deadly fighting skills and knowledge of the capacity of load his body can take would definitely want to know who he is.
Bringing the character of Jason Bourne to life from Robert Ludlum’s Novel ‘The Bourne Identity’, Doug Liman did an excellent job with making the series without CGI. I remember seeing the preview of ‘The Bourne Identity’ back in 2002 and thought this movie seems to be good. A friend of mine had read the original work and was a fan of the character Bourne himself. After the movie what we talked about was only the movie, the moves and the way the director made the movie without CGI. Later we found out that Robert Ludlum had written another two books, making it a three part series, to finish of the story of the movie.

Then ‘The Bourne Supremacy’ hit the theaters and it gave the series a reason to watch where Bourne is bent on finding his past and hitting hard at what ever was in his path stopping him. The story picks up immediately where the first part left off. Marie and Bourne in India still running away from who ever that is trying to kill Bourne. The first sequence in the movie shows a robbery and killing where one of the killers leave a thumb print that traces back to Bourne, which initiates the hunt for him again. While in India Marie is shot in the head from the rear by one of the Assets (Assassins). Bourne watches her die when their vehicle goes off the road into a river. Burning all her memories (Photos), Bourne goes on a rampage looking for the killer and finally avenging Marie’s death in the end in Russia.
‘The Bourne Supremacy’ follows the same path as its predecessor with out CGI and with the same hard hitting action. The star cast remained the same but this time there was an introduction of a new character named Pamela Landy, task force chief of CIA in Langley. She believes that Bourne is not of the character her fellow CIA officials want her to believe. She is the one that tells him that his real name is Jason Bourne and he was born on 4-15-71. Bourne is constantly watching her from rooftops and in the end he tells her “have some rest mem, you look tired”.

‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ the third and final (hope not) in the series sums up the story. It again picks up immediately after ‘The Bourne Supremacy’ (in the tunnels off Russia, Bourne ramming the Asset, in a van, into a beam). Bourne escapes (in a ghostly manner) from the Russian police and heads to a nearby pharmacy to nurse his left shoulder. This movie introduces another character named Noah Vosen who is bent on killing Bourne. Pamela Landy is still helping Bourne in any way possible to have him come in discuss the matter. The movie was shot in the best of locations making the movie bigger and better then its predecessors (watch for the mall scene). Bourne escapes from a number of attempts at his life. There is a similar tunnel scene that its predecessor had involving another asset this time.
All three of the movies were excellently made, the cast was superb in the roles they were given. All three have proven to be a hit in the cinema history and now movie makers say that Matt Damon is a bankable actor, you give him a movie and you are sure to get your money’s worth. The factor to note in this series is that the three movies were made by two directors, Doug Liman (‘The Bourne Identity’) and Paul Greengrass making the second and the final one. The feel to the movie wasn’t altered in any way even though there was a different person behind the wheel of the other two movies. I would review these movies 9/10.

Ps: Wikipedia has articles about another two Jason Bourne novels, written by Eric Van Lustbader titled ‘The Bourne Legacy’ and ‘The Bourne Betrayal’. According to the article in Wikipedia, ‘The Bourne Legacy’ wasn’t received the way it was expected. The last novel ‘The Bourne Betrayal’ was to be released a few weeks before the premiere of the third installment in 2007.

Ghost Rider

The daredevil bike rider has finally made it to the screen, a guy who sold his soul to Mephistopheles (character created by Stan Lee and Sal Buscema for the Marvel World). Johnny Blaze sold his soul in order to allow his father, dieing from heart disease, to live longer. In typical devilish fashion, Mephistopheles takes his father’s life before he could perform a stunt at a dirt bike jumping show.
Waiting for a chance to payback Mephistopheles, Johnny pursues his stunt career with a vengeance, making jumps that were never thought possible (all were CGI, of course). His lost love walks back into his life just when the devil comes back to claim Johnny as his “rider”.
Johnny wreaks havoc through out the city trying to find the location of Blackheart (Son of the Devil) to return the contract of San Vaganza. Not returning the contract of San Vaganza would mean hell on earth. Upon the contracts receivable Blackheart possess all the souls that the previous rider had collected, making them his and now Blaze has to stop him at any cost.

I feel the drawback of the movie was the skull of “Ghost Rider”. They made the skull smaller compared to Cage’s head. It can be seen clearly when both the ghost riders (Blaze and Carter Slade) take the ride in the final scene before Blaze changes. The head just did not match the physique that Cage has/had. The other rider didn’t look bad, I guess due to the horse and the hat he was wearing. Then there was the beauty Eva Mendez, who had an electrifying appearance, and with the tight attire she wore, made everyone’s blood boil.

The plot line in the movie was “ok” given that the movie had to introduce the characters slowly. The director did a good job with this movie though. My favorite scene in the movie was where Blaze changes for the first time, the burning of the head and the fingers. I had always thought how they will show the change in the movie. Unlike in some of the movies they show the shadow of a character changing shape and that’s it.

I remember reading for the first time that Hollywood was attempting a “Ghost Rider movie”. My thoughts were, as I had said before, how they were going to effect/depict the change, which turned out pretty good. Then my thoughts jumped to the plot line, what the plot would be like and then the actors were gonna be. If I were to rate this movie I would give it a 6/10.

I Robot

“I, Robot” is a science-fiction flick starring Will Smith as Detective Del Spooner. Spooner is a homicide detective who is called by a hologram of Dr Alfred Lanning (James Cronwell) upon his death. Lanning and Spooner had a bond between them mentioned later in the movie where by a scene showing Spooner’s entire left arm was repaired by US Robotics.
Lanning knew that Spooner had a prejudice against Robots. Even though Lanning’s death looked like a suicide, Spooner thought otherwise. He found one of the robots hidden in Lanning’s lab. Due to the robot running away, even after numerous shutdown orders, Spooner is bent on catching him. Throughout the movie Spooner is attacked by multiple fleets of robots trying to kill him.
Later on Lenny (the NS-5 taken as a suspect) reveals his father (Lanning) had embedded a second memory module, allowing it (Lenny) to dream, thereby making him very different from all the other NS-5’s. Lenny’s metal structure was also different, made of a denser alloy that made it more powerful then the rest of its kind.
US Robotics has successfully marketed and retailed robots where the trend is now a robot to every 5 homes. “VIKI”, an AI “boss computer”, is the mind of US Robotics, controlling or monitoring all robots. “VIKI” “goes homicidal” (phrase borrowed from Resident Evil movie), gives the robots new data downloads and arranges the attacks on Spooner.
VIKI was the first creation of Lanning’s which made way for the future robotics. Now because of being different Sunny thinks he was made for a reason and that is to bring order to the robotic world and destroy V.I.K.I (Virtual Interactive Kinetic Intelligence).

This movie was made by Alex Proyas the guy who gave you “Dark City” and “The Crow”. I remember once reading a review (not long ago) that said that Alex did not do a good job with “I, Robot”. The reason he gave was that he was waiting for a gothic kind of dark movie just the way Proyas is used to making. Personally I feel that Proyas and Smith did a fantastic job with “I, Robot”. The movie was well paced with giving each character enough screen time making it worthwhile for the movie to be watched. All in all I would rate the movie 8/10.

*Found out last week that Proyas will be heading a new movie which has a working title of “Dracula Year Zero”.*

Transformers

The movie that revived the franchise and hit the cinema’s with a bang. Like all movies it was more of an introduction for all the characters from Optimus Prime to all the autobots. The movie starts with a brief background of Cybertron (the world of Autobots) being destroyed and Megatron coming to earth to attain the Allspark (the originator of transformers species). The first sequence shows one of the Decepticons (blackout) attacking a US military base in Qatar to find the location of his master, Megatron but fails. The opening sequence was so amazing that I had literally held my breath in a few sequences trying to capture the moment at hand. There are multiple attempts to identify the location of Megatron which they succeed towards the end of the feature. Bumble Bee is assigned to look for the great-great-grandson of Witwicky who found Megatron frozen in Artic. Meanwhile in present time the autobots assemble on earth taking up shapes of motor vehicles getting ready to defend Allspark at any cost.

The special effects used in the movie were breath taking. From my point of view I feel that almost 90% of the movie was CGI based. All the actors were new apart from the person that provided the voice for Optimus Prime. Michael Bay had auditioned all the surviving voices (of transformers) but chose only Peter Cullen. The reason he gave was that their voice would show ageing for the rest of them. I remember the first day I read about Hollywood making a movie on Transformers and I was all excited to see those autobots on the big silver screen changing shapes into motor vehicles, planes and metallic animals. Then came the day when they released the first images for Optimus Prime and Megatron. Not being a fan of Megatron I went for the look of Optimus.
The acting in the movie was very well done by all the cast members, of course when you are with the master of movies “Steven Spielberg” then people try and give their hundred percent. Shia LaBeouf played his part in a very realistic way thanks to the motion capture points and some of the props (if you can call that) which made him look at Optimus in the eye instead of his lips while talking (lol). Now Megan Fox is a very sexy thing. I remember first watching her in Mean Girls. She has some good movies on her credits list but she has outdone herself this time. All the rest of the cast in the movie were quite well done except for the FBI guy (John Turturro). I never liked his acting it irritates me. I have already blabbed about the special effects so I will not go there again. All in all the entire movie was fantastic personally I would rate it 9/10.

Side note: Please keep your mouth shut if you have seen the movie. I know a guy who got pissed at Alilti (radio announcer in FM96, Fiji) for spilling the beans on the movie revealing the story plot details and a number of action sequences. Now people like these should keep their mouths shut and not spoil the movie before the fans go out and see them.

The Pledge, the Turn and the Prestige :Performing rules for any magician.

“The Prestige” is a movie based on the novel written by British writer Christopher Priest in 1995. The movie is about two magicians driven by the desire to become “number one”.
This cinematic piece features Christian Bale as Alfred Borden, and Hugh Jackman as Robert Angier, “magicians” who are gunning to beat the other through their performance.

The movie opens with Borden descending to the bottom beneath a stage, on which Angier is performing, and he sees Angier trapped in a glass (Houdini) box, He tries to break the glass walls to free him but fails due to the thickness of the glass.
Due to his inability to free Angier, Borden is accused of killing him and is taken into custody by the police, accused of murder. The movie goes into “flash backs”, showing Angier and Borden both being “ringers” (assistants) to another “magician”.
After the death of Angier’s wife caused by Borden, both the friends split up and go separate ways to pursue their own careers in magic. Both the magicians come up with items/performances, that distinguish them from each other. For example, Borden created the “Transported Man”, an item performed with a double, namely Borden’s twin brother.
On the other hand, Angier is given a new teleportation device made by the rival of Thomas Edison, Nikola Telsa. Through Telsa’s machine, anything that is placed in the machine is duplicated and teleported. So Angier uses this as his new “Transported Man” giving the item a new look and feel, using electricity to make him disappear.
Borden is so frustrated after watching 100 shows of Angier, and still not knowing how it is done, that he decides to go beneath the stage and have a look at the secret himself. Seeing Angier trapped in a glass box he tries to free him but is accused of murder when he fails.
The rest of the story is Borden in his cell being visited by a lawyer that wants him to reveal the secret of his “Transported Man”. Borden is hanged in the end and Cutter accompanies Angier to the storage place for the duplicates of Angier. Cutter was an illusionist engineer for Angier and also the magician Angier worked for as a “ringer”. Cutter is disgusted to see all the copies of Angier in the glass boxes and leaves him alone in the storage room.
Borden is seen entering the storage facility, then shoots Angier, and reveals that he and his assistant were twins, changing places as they saw fit. Angier’s face can be seen regretting the day he chose to go after the real “Transported Man”. The camera zooms outward showing the whole storage place full of copies of the deranged Angier.

This movie reunited Nolan, Bale and Michael Caine after their success with “Batman Begins”. Bale is at his best, fitting in to roles as if those roles were created with him in mind. Caine’s character, I guess, is more of a repetition of Alfred from “Batman Begins”. Hugh Jackman on the other hand plays his character to perfection. In this movie it shows his character’s darker side and Jackman was excellent in it. Imagine, from a hero to a villain in just a few movies (X-men and The Prestige). Nolan does a great job again casting his favorite actors in roles that make them more of an icon.
The movie is a must watch with less emphasis on special effects and more on makeup and movie magic according to wikipedia. If I were to rate the movie I would have given it a 9/10

Live Free or Die Hard

John MaClane, you should know him well, is up to his old tricks again but this time he is against something he doesn’t like and that is technology. A band of hackers get access to the cities main controls and create a “fire sale’. Fire sale as described in the movie is taking down one system down at a time everything that is controlled my computer, incase of the movie everything. The movie started out well with action in the first sequence where Bruce Willis and Justine Long meet. His apartment was a shit hole after MaClane left with him.

Bruce Willis is very good at the role of John MaClane, I guess the reason would be that he is the first and only actor to play that role. His dialogue delivery and character acting was the same as his other three prequels. All in all I don’t have much to say about Willis in the role of MaClane.

Justine Long was pathetic in his role the reason being that all the movies I have seen of his is all the same. I guess he needs to break out of the image of a high school kid and try acting as it should be, not be a computer nerd or something like Clark Kent (minus Superman). Maggie Q is a very sexy and a graceful actress. The first movie I saw of hers was Naked Weapon 1 and it was good. *devil smile* In Die Hard 4 it is evident that this lady is made for movies that require a sexy hacker, or a killer (Naked Weapon 1). All the rest of the actors played the role properly. The special effect and the editing of the movie was done pretty well apart from the super fighter jet dual in the end which looked like toys, (especially the jet).

Willis’ choices of roles have led him through disasters and some very successful movies. I remember watching Die Hard 1-3 and thinking who the hell would sit down and think of these kind of plot lines but there is always people who are more of thinkers then us. The running time of the movie was roughly about 2 hrs 15 and it didn’t seem ever that the movie was too long or boring. The action sequence was well paced giving the audience the moneys worth. If I had to rate the movie it would have been 7/10.

Reply to Viper: And yes Viper Willis did say "Yipekay aye motherfucker" i guess it wouldnt be a Die Hard movie without Willis saying it, would it?

Fantastic Four

Flame On …

Its quite odd how some of the stories are set with many different characters. Four of those characters to make it to the big screen are simply names as Fantastic Four. This team consists of three males and a female.
Reed Richards: the leader of the four aka Mr Fantastic. He is able to streach his body to any length.
Sue Storm: the Mrs of Mr Fantastic or commonly known as the Invisible Woman. She is able to turn herself invisible, tangible objects and creating force fields as gigantic as she wants.
Johnny Storm: commonly known as the Human Torch and brother of Sue Storm. He is able to heat himself to the temperature of a supernova.
Ben Grimm: The Thing. The strongest stony looking things alive on earth.

That’s Fantastic Four. They were created by Stan Lee in November 1961 but Hollywood re-created them in 2005 giving them flash and blood second time. Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis and Chris Evans star as the flesh and blood fantastic four with Von Doom played by Julian McMahon. The original story had been changed for the film version. Or it can be said that it was a story of an alternate earth with Fantastic Four. The original story did not have Von Doom with Reeds in the the spaceship but his own experiment that went wrong which left him scared.

The first installment as always was more of an introduction. The movie was well received by audience in all the parts it was released. The actors were all welcomed by Stan Lee him self. Actually Stan Lee was more impresses with the casting of Sue storm saying that there couldn’t have been a better choice for Sue. (oh yeah I remember the curves in those tights). Personally my thoughts also Jessica Alba was the best choice for Sue Storm. As for the other cast I feel that all were a good choice even when Ioan went for the casting for The Thing.

The special effects for the movie was mind blowing specially when Chris Evens (Johnny Storm Human/Torch) changes. The things was the closest they could go to making The Thing look like comic books otherwise they would have to resort to CGI like they did for Hulk (boy did they fuck it up).

Trivia: Human Torch when pursued by the heat seeking missile his lit up form was flipped. If you watch closely you will see that the number four on his chest is like a mirror image.

Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer

All the characters have reprised their roles this time around unlike some other movies. Personally I think that actors should reprise their roles the reason being that it give a sense of continuity to the whole franchise. Two new characters have been introduced in this movie, The Silver Surfer and Galactus. Special effect in the sequel was again at its best they not only made Human Touch but they did the Silver Surfer in the best of way. Like Chris Evens said when he saw Silver Surfer coming through the building (oh that’s cool). Victor Von Doom had a piece in this sequel also showing his deceitful side.

The movie had a good blend of humor with Chris Evens changing and looking like the thing and turning invisible. I never was a FF fan before watching the movie but I was a fan of the individual characters like the Human Touch and the Invisible Woman. The movie did quite good actually much better then the first installment. I guess the reason being that the effects were done at a more larger scale then its predecessor. All the actors played their part rather perfectly guess it was because they had been together in the previous movie. The story this time focused more on Silver Surfer trying to destroy earth and how the FF try and stop this by making the silver surfer fight on their side.

Before the movie was completed the company had decided to make a spin off of Silver surfer. The guy and his surf board all by themselves, nice. In my opinion they should be doing more of these movies. Budget is a constraint I know, but they can find financers that can come up with that sort of money to finance a franchise. Now lets just wait and see if the Silver Surfer takes flight, does the script bites the dust and not see the light of day or simply be made into a B rated movie. Stay tuned.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away .......

May the force be with you …. Those have been the trademark for all the six Star Wars movies. It all began when a young George Lucas set out to make a movie that would earn him money. Upon completion of the movie (1977 Star wars Episode V, A New Hope) he had called in all the big companies of that time and made them watch it. At the end of the screening only one company took the risk of releasing the movie and that was 20h Century Fox when told the movie will not be a success. Lucas said once in an interview (not exactly his words but) I knew people would want to watch a movie with a title that suggests the movie is about outer space. Well what o you know it worked for him.

The first three parts of the saga deals with the character Anakin Skywalker. A little kid in the first part who shows qualities and traits of Jedi’s that leads him to the Jedi temple. He is trained by Obi Wan Kenobi (between episode 1 and 2) and later grows (much faster then Padme) and they fall in love and have kids. Twins actually. Anakin turns to the dark side before he turns to the twins are born. But he knew his wife was pregnant. In a dual between Obi Wan and Anakin, Obi Wan cuts his body in half and is left to die. Darth Sidious come along and saves Anakin and give him a life support suit (that’s the reason he breaths like a blow pipe).

The last three parts deals with Darth Vader’s (aka Anakin Skywalker) son (Luke Skywalker) all grownup and becomes a Jedi. His training is started by Obi Wan and then Yoda continues his training in the caves. Later his focus is shattered when he finds out that Lord Vader is his father. At last in the 6th part Luke becomes a Jedi master and he sets out to fight the dark lord (his father). In the end just as it always happens the good defeats the evil and saves the world from destruction.

Now did u know that that George Lucas has made cartoons and TV movies to link up stories between movies. Take for example the clone wars is a cartoon series that came out to link up the story between Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. This series is supposed to show how Anakin had grown up and how he got his recognition (General Grievous in the opening sequence tells him “I was expecting someone with your reputation to be a little … older”) in the world of the dark and lighter side. At first George Lucas had planned to make a nine part series of Star Wars but later decided against it saying “I don’t want to be making Star Wars all my life”

The later parts were supposed to consist of story after the events of The Return of the Jedi. Luke has mastered the Jedi traits like yoda and is running a Jedi temple. Leia has twins with Han Solo and she has become a prominent name in the politics in the galactical senate. The story was supposed to be where an old Sith returns and draws a kid from the Jedi temple to the dark side and nearly kills Luke.

The whole idea of Star Wars as I see it was a vision of George Lucas to see a future where humans have advanced so much that every thing has changed. Humans and aliens leave in peace. The main idea was the fight between good and evil. It tried to show us that best friends Obi Wan and Anakin fought till only one was alive and then father and son fought leaving only one standing also. Many people have visions of the future and all come up with a different perspective of it. Below are some links that I found useful to keep me up to date with the Star Wars universe. I hope u enjoyed this first blog now get lost and write a comment.

Star Wars – Official Website.

Blue Harvest – Fan Site

Force.net - One of the oldest Star Wars fan sites
Now for the images: this is the cast of Star Wars old and New.

Hayden Christensen, Ewan McGregor, George Lucas (the man himself), Natalie Portman, Yoda, Darth Vader, R2D2, C3PO, Samuel L Jackson, Jar Jar Binks, Jimmy Smits, Christopher Lee, Liam Neeson, Pernilla August, (Kid unknown by me), Ian McDiarmid, General Greivous, Carl Weathers, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Chewbacca, and Mark Hamill.

Silent. Invisible. Invincible. The Ultimate Hunter

No I m not talking about the Hunter from Unreal Tournament, this is the creature that was first seen in the movie Predator (1987). The movie started Arnold Schwarzenegger as Major Alan Dutch Schaefer and the late Kevin Peter Hall as the (Yatuja) Predator. Predator is a character that has the ability to bend light making him near invisible and with an array of weapons at his disposal (plasma gun on the shoulder) makes him nearly invincible.
But "If it bleeds, we can kill it,". Imaging coming face to face with a creature like this who opens his mouth in four different directions. Whoa! This character was portrayed perfectly by the late actor Kevin Peter Hall. A less known fact about the actor is that he was actually blind.

An excerpt from a book published 1993:

Arnold confesses to have had some initial anxiety when first confronted with the creature:

-There was plenty of fear there, believe me. Working with something like this was wild in reality because he[monster Kevin Peter Hall, who stands a foot taller than Schwarzenegger] couldn’t really see. Not only in the movie does he have heat seeking eyes, but in reality the sonuvabitch couldn’t see. So when he’s supposed to slap me around and stay far from my face, all of a sudden WHAP! There is his hand with claws on it! (Flynn, John L. The Films of Arnold Schwarzenegger, p116)

The second part of the movie that came out in 1990 also had the same guy playing the Predator. For the menacing one and the elderly one (in the end). Towards the end of the movie there is a xenomorph (Alien) skull seen in the spacecraft. Now what does that show? Simple this is where the story idea for AVP came right? Wrong! The cross over was done a year before the movie was release through a comic titles Alien Vs Predator. Imagine after more then 14 years someone had the guts to pull of a movie like AVP. Also this story is very different from the comics.

Story on the sequel for AVP:
Alien vs. Predator: Survival of the Fittest is the upcoming sequel to 2004's Alien vs. Predator film. Filming began on September 25, 2006 in Vancouver. Tom Woodruff Jr and Alec Gillis from Amalgamated Dynamics will be handling the special effects for the film as they did for the previous installment and Daniel Pearl has signed on as director of photography. Shane Salerno wrote the script. Reiko Aylesworth and Steven Pasquale will play leading roles in the film. ComingSoon.Net has reported a release date of December 21, 2007, however, according to other Internet reports, the film will debut in Australia on September 27, 2007 casting doubt on the North American date. The film is expected to be rated R, as opposed to the PG-13 rating of the original.

Visual effects artists and commercial and music video directors the Brothers Strause have been announced as the directors of "AvP2". A June 1, 2006 news entry on their website merely says "Something big is brewing" and a June 7, 2006 news entry says "AVP2 ! The Bros. have signed on to direct their first feature."

After looking a the rating it feels that the movie should be a little more bloody don’t you think. I had a feeling that held back on the fight scenes. One of the reasons (I feel) was that the Yatuja had been too bulky to make any moves. The end scene with the Yatuja jumping in the air to stab the mother Alien was all CGI. What other choice do they have when the suites are so bloody BIG. Any ways lefts hope APV 2 is good. Cant wait to see how much they fucked it up. Until then see ya.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://syfer-darknight.blogspot.com/2006/10/silent-invisible-invincible-ultimate.html' title='Silent. That is the start of the silent hill. Well not exactly the start but from where the main story starts. The small town is being haunted by a small girl, she controls everything. If you are in silent hill, during the day it is your day but when it is dark its Alyssa’s world you are in.
She only needs to take revenge from the people that put her in a bed by burning her alive, but she survived. Her hatred for the people of Silent Hill grew so much that she is blinded by it. Her hatred was fueled by an evil little girl. There are so many things that are unexplained in the movie that people might find it hard to grasp. Like people are thinking that she is dead, but do u smell dead people. Yuck! I see dead people is good but smell? It’s would be more like smelling the evil Ash character from Evil Dead 3 – Army of Darkness. Eeks!

Now according to some readings found on the internet I have found out that some of my questions were answered. Like how come Rose is in the same place as her husband and still they do not see each other but he smells her perfume. People would say that she is dead. But how do you explain the bodies not found. Every dead peoples body are found. Well in extreme cases like having the legendry “Predator” in the forest then it is a different case. Now according to the readings there are supposedly three dimensions to this story. First the real world (where her husband is), second being the silent hill with ashes and mist and the third being Alyssa’s world, stained in blood and full of rust.

People have their own perception as to what the story was. One of my friends said that he had watched the movie three times and says that Rose had died in the end of the movie where she is stabbed. Now if that is the case how come the husband didn’t see her in the movie (prior to the stabbing) while both were in the school scene? Apart from that there are so many views that people have. It is also said in one write-up that the little (evil) girl is Satan in disguise which is true if you watch and listen to the movie closely ( "I go by many names").

My View: The Satan wanted the souls in hell for him so he helped Alyssa to try and kill the people one by one. He was able to give her powers beyond belief (love the barb wire scene in the end). In return he wanted the misplaced souls. The people in Silent Hill were trapped in the second dimension (3rd paragraph) where everyday before dark they are given a warning that the darkness is approaching (air raid siren). After darkness Silent Hill changes to Alyssa’s world and there is havoc. Satan had brought Sharon into Silent Hill because Alyssa looked exactly like Sharon when she was burnt. (Burning was because the people thought that Alyssa was a witch and in those times witches were burnt alive.)

Now with Sharon some where is Silent Hill, Rose wanted to get her back and she was prepared to go to any length (beheaded nurses and the red pyramid) even though she didn’t battle the red pyramid. As always Satan couldn’t get into the church where the people of Silent Hill took shelter at night. Satan needed a transport and Rose is the only one in sight. So he uses her as transport and makes the way for Alyssa to take revenge. After the finale the second dimension is still present because Alyssa’s mother is still alive and so is Rose and her daughter Sharon. The third dimension is not shown may be it is still there may be it is gone who kn

All in all I think Silent Hill is a good movie and if I were to give it stars I would give it 9 out of 10 for the suspense and horrific scenes and 6 out of 10 for acting. I guess that sums up my perspective of the movie. Now all your comments will be heard but don’t wait for my reply because I m not bothered.

Full artical/story can be found on this link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_Hill_%28film%29

Now if you havent seen the movie get of your chair put some makeup on ur ugly face and go watch the damn movie!!! Take Marv for example, Goldie slept with him once (after which she was killed) and he goes on a killing rampage just the find the main killer. Who is he? By now you should have seen the movie, if you haven't then go see it before you read this post.

The movie consisted of four colors: yellow for yellow bastard, red for the lipstick colors and the lady in red, and the rest was black and white. The movie had a wide array of stars all of whom have a name in Hollywood. Take Clive for example, he has been in so many movies but very few people choose to remember an actor like him. The same goes for Benincio Del Toro. Have you heard of him. I didn’t think so. Benincio made his name as the insane brother of Sanchez in the James Bond movie “The Living Daylights”. After his first appearance he was only given roles that made him look insane.

The first character is Marv, played by Mickey Rourke
“ Creator, Frank Miller describes the creation of Marv as a juxtaposition of his two biggest influences: film noir and medieval stories. Despite his presumed Catholic upbringing, Marv is a violent, borderline psychotic who uses his tremendous strength and fighting skills to bring down those who challenge him or break his personal code of ethics.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marv - Link for more story on Marv from Wikipedia

Like him there are more characters all of whom possess different traits that makes them standout in the movie. It was the closest a movie maker can get to making a live-action movie from comic books. There are even comparison shots on the internet that show the closeness between the movies.

Here is an article found on the internet about the sequel tell me what you think about it?

**** Sin City 2 will be released in 2007, although an exact release date has yet to be confirmed. It was revealed by director Robert Rodríguez that the story for film to be based around would be A Dame to Kill For as well as a new story to be written by Frank Miller. The new story centers around the character of Nancy Callahan (Jessica Alba). It will weave in and out of A Dame to Kill For and will show "A whole new side of Nancy", according to Miller.
